Healthcare

Midland is well serviced in healthcare. There are two hospitals in the area with active and chronic care beds. It also offers nursing homes, retirement residences, a sports injury clinic, and a selection of pharmacies. There are ample doctors, including specialists, dentists, orthodontists, chiropractors, optometrists, ophthalmologists

Georgian Bay General Hospital in Midland provides active treatment in emergency, surgery, obstetrics, and medicine, while the Penetanguishene branch offers rehabilitation, chronic care and outpatient clinics.

Penetanguishene Mental Health Centre has over 294 beds and offers outpatient services and care in the region.

Huronia Medical Centre is a private facility run by a physician consortium that offers care to their patients along with a variety of testing departments to include laboratory, x-ray, etc.

Community Care Access Centre is in place to offer a host of support services to the community at large.

911 Emergency Service is available throughout the region in both urban and rural locations.

County of Simcoe Paramedic Services provides ambulance service to the wider region.

Emergency Air Transportation via Helicopter is available at the Georgian Bay General Hospital site. Emergency Air Transportation via Airplane is available at the Midland Airport on the outskirts of Midland.
